Shannon Clark As life does, we are shaped by events into who we become. As a child surrounded by extreme human toxicity, my inherent drive to seek beauty trained my eye to 'see' the often overlooked or ignored. As a lifelong student of Art, I've explored many forms of expression that will always be my therapy. The birth of my daughter... she saved my life and I couldn't keep my instant camera's away from her beautiful face. Today, my camera sets me free... I explore to capture moments familiar, yet unexpected. Then look deeper to discover imagery with a connotative flavour. Whether I achieve this with composition, colour, pattern and or perspective, I tend to isolate my 'found' moments and fill the frame to further discover complexity, humour or emotion in simple images. Shooting exclusively digital, I practice taking photograph's 'right' the first time and use post digital editing for minor enhancements and file management. Never be afraid to be creative, get dirty, look up, down and zoom in... treasures are everywhere, let your inherent curiosity 'see' the beauty that surrounds us.
