Rick McKenzie I am a creative photographer with an eye for detail. My work incorporates not only what the camera sees but also what I envision in a scene. I prefer capturing images that show water. Whether it is a waterfall or a tiny water drop splash, water is often the focus or at least an important part of my work. Recently, I have ventured more into the art of composite imagery with an emphasis on imagination. Much like a brush and palette are the tools of the painter so to me are the camera and computer. I generally attempt to create with the computer more or less realistic images that illustrate what I feel is the essence of what the camera captures. I have had an interest in photography since I picked up my parents' Kodak Brownie in the 1960s. Courses at Mohawk college and The Dundas Valley School of Art were my formal training, otherwise I am self taught. I learned from many individuals over the years but I attribute much of my informal education to the members of the Hamilton Camera club. I currently hold a 7 Star Master rating at the club.
